What are Play Boosters?
Play Boosters combine the best of draft and set boosters into one perfect product, suitable for both the player of limited Magic, such as booster draft and sealed deck, and the avid collector who enjoys opening booster packs.

Previously, you could choose between draft, set, or collector boosters to collect your new cards. Collector boosters remain unchanged and are still the go-to booster for special foils, unique borders, and exclusives. Draft and set boosters have been replaced by play boosters. Play boosters were specifically designed with booster draft and sealed decks in mind, but ripping boosters also remains exciting down to the last card thanks to the increased chance of showcase cards and rares or mythic rares!

Composition Play Boosterbox
A Booster Box contains 36 play boosters. Each play booster contains 15 Magic: The Gathering cards from Outlaws of Thunder Junction. The composition of a play booster is as follows:

- 1 to 5 rares or mythic rares.
- 5 to 8 commons.
- 3 to 6 uncommons.
- 1 basic land.
- Always one foil card.
- 1 art card, token or advertising card.

In a play booster, you always get at least one rare and one foil card. Furthermore, one in seven boosters contains a mythic rare instead of a rare! In one in eight boosters, you'll find a card from The List* or a Special Guest instead of a common. Play boosters also contain two wildcard slots, one foil, and one non-foil. Cards in the wildcard slot can be of any rarity, from common to mythic rare.

The Big Score
The criminals on Thunder Junction have one common goal: crack the biggest vault and steal the loot! The cards in this vault, known as "The Big Score," are all brand-new mythic rares and even have their own showcase variant, the Vault Frame. Will you beat these criminals to the riches by pulling them from your booster? If so, use these powerful cards to upgrade all your decks, from Standard to Commander!

The List
The List is a specially selected list of 40 cards from the history of Magic: The Gathering. Cards on The List are always reprints of existing cards without new art, and thematically fit the set they appear in. The rarity of a card from The List ranges from common to mythic rare.

Special guests are unique reprints of powerful cards with brand-new borderless art. Every booster offers a chance to find a special guest card. These reprints are powerful, sought-after cards, or the cards perfectly match the theme of the set they're in.
