Play Boosters, as the name suggests, are designed for playing Magic: The Gathering. These boosters are specifically designed with the booster draft and sealed deck variants in mind , but ripping boosters also remains exciting until the last card thanks to the increased chance of finding special showcase cards with fantastic illustrations and extra rares or mythic rares.

Composition Play Boosterbox
A Booster Box contains 30 play boosters. Each play booster contains 14 Magic: The Gathering cards from Final Fantasy. The composition of a play booster is as follows:

- 1 rare of mythic rare.
- 1 wildcard slot, can be any rarity.
- 1 foil card, can be any rarity.
- 3 uncommons.
- 6 to 7 commons.
- 1 in 3 boosters contains a FF Through the Ages card instead of a common.
- 1 land card.
- 1 token of art card.

In a play booster, you always get at least one rare and one foil card. Furthermore, one in seven boosters contains a mythic rare instead of a rare! One in three play boosters contains a Final Fantasy Through the Ages card instead of a common. Play boosters also contain two wildcard slots: one foil and one non-foil. Cards in the wildcard slot can be of any rarity, from common to mythic rare. A play booster contains at least one rare or mythic rare and can contain up to four rares or mythic rares.

One in three Final Fantasy Play Boosters includes a bonus card featuring original Final Fantasy artwork.
